Membership Information
You are home watching
television on a Sunday night just about to fall asleep on the couch, finally
relaxing from a weekend spent working around the house or perhaps
entertaining friends or family. Then the fire tones go off on your pager.
You race up to put on your shoes, jump into your car and drive to the fire hall.
The call ... it doesn't really matter what it is, someone has called
the Fire Department for help ... and that's why you joined. Each year the
fire tones are activated over 800 times in the Town of Pittsford. Many
calls we respond to are simply good intent calls such as responding to an
activated smoke alarm due to burnt food from cooking or steam from a shower.
Others are more serious such as structure fires, motor vehicle accidents or
medical emergencies. No matter the nature of the call, the weather
conditions, the time of day, no matter what ... members of the Pittsford
Fire Department are always willing to stop whatever they are doing to help
others.
Being a member of the Fire
Department is about helping
people in a time of need and protecting property. No other organization can respond so quickly, in
such force, when called into action. The only way we can continue to
provide the highest quality of emergency response for the citizens of Pittsford
is to recruit and retain individuals who are motivated, dedicated and team
oriented. If you possess these qualities, then you are a potential
candidate for the Pittsford Fire Department.
